Well, I suppose I had better update people on Skyler so I don't end up telling the whole story over and over.
The news was bad... very bad. He has a degenterativ bone disease much like ostioparosis in women. He didn't give me much of an idea, but the way it sounded he estimated there was a 95% chance skyler would never really be able to be ridden much and he was 100% sure he would not be a 'working horse'... meaning the intensity it takes to prepare for a big show career, let alone go to APHA World, would be impossible.
I don't really know what to say or do. I don't think it has really hit me yet. I'm just happy he is alive. That I didn't have to put him down, which was a very strong possibility... I felt very guilty up until now, but Brian (The Vet) assured me that this was inevitable and no matter what, would have happened anyways.
The disease is genetic. Now I must watch out for Goldy's babies to be sure she isn't the one passing the disease on... if so, I will have to stop breeding her.
*wonders off*
